How do i become a member?

There are stages of membership 1. Student membership requirement(s) • Preliminary stage [NCE, OND, WAEC & NECO or equivalent] No of subjects = eight No of diet = two List of subjects 1. Introduction to governance 2. Introduction to management information technology 3. Introduction to management and organisation theory 4. Introduction to entrepreneurship and investment 5. Introduction to strategic marketing 6. Introduction to Human Resource Management 7. Quantitative techniques 8. Business law and environmental management: Exemption No exemption whatsoever for holders of NCE or OND in non-management disciplines. Holders of NCE and OND or their equivalent in management related certificate or disciplines shall be exempted from subjects 2, 3, 4 & 8. All WAEC, NECO, and their equivalents shall go through all subjects at this stage. • Knowledge stage (1) -bachelor’s degree, postgraduate or equivalent. No of diet = 1 No of subjects = 6 List of subjects 1. Overview and concept of management 2. Introduction to strategic management process 3. Pure strategy and policy 4. Strategic communication 5. Fundamentals of strategic leadership 6. Fundamentals of research methodology Exemption Degree holders or their equivalent in management and other related disciplines shall be exempted from subjects 1 & 4. Master’s degree and its equivalent holders in management shall be exempted from subject 1,4 & 6 only. Masters/doctoral degree or its equivalent in a non-management discipline shall do all the subjects (1-6). • Skill stage (2) -master’s degree or equivalent. No of subjects = 10, No of diets = 2. List of subjects 1. Strategic management and leadership grid 2. Strategic management in action 3. Demography, ecology, astrology, and astronomy 4. Nature of strategy and internal configuration capability 5. Environmental audit techniques 6. Strategic management tools and techniques 7. Strategic intent 8. Specialization in any of the fundamental areas of human endeavors 9. Strategic management in governance (public sector, business enterprise, political society, civil society) 10. Resources and strategy Exemption Msc Strategic Management and its equivalent to be exempted from 1,2,4,5 & 10(1st diet). They shall write the remaining subjects at the 2nd diet. Phd in Strategic Management and its equivalent to be exempted from the skills level. • Application stage (3) professional -Phd or equivalent No of subjects = 5 No of diet = 1 List of subjects 1. Review of at least 20 journals, 10 of which must be from strategic management and strategic leadership. 2. Publish at least 2 articles in stipulated journals. 3. Undergo a prescribed internship for strategic management in governance – 6 months. 4. Presentation of self-authored thesis. 2. Associate membership requirement(s) • he or she is a candidate who has satisfactorily passed all required and mandated institute’s professional examinations as approved by the council • He or she is a holder of the institute’s student membership 3. Full membership requirement(s) • He or she is adjudged as having the requisite academic qualifications and experience by the council, • he or she is a holder of the institute’s associate membership with at least four years practical experience after his associate membership enlistment, and • possesses other relevant qualifications acceptable and considered suitable and relevant by the council. 4. Fellowship requirement(s) • He or she is a founding member of the institute with sound academic and relevant professional qualification and experiences • He or she is a university graduate, academician and non-academician, whose advisory roles on economic matters and management position in the public or private sectors had contributed tremendously to the nation’s economic growth and development, • They are individuals in relevant and related disciplines who have offered development services of special nature to the nation or who have noticeably relentlessly and dynamically to enhance the professional image of the institute directly or indirectly; and • They are holders of the full membership of the institute with at least 10 years practical experience

How do I register with ISMNC Rivers?

To join the Rivers State chapter of the Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria Chartered (ISMNC), you can follow these steps: I. Membership: You must first become a member of ISMNC (information on membership requirements, benefits, and fees is available on this website). Ii. Complete the application: if you meet the requirements and wish to proceed, complete the membership application provided by the institute. Iii. Await approval: your application will typically be reviewed by the institute, and you’ll be notified of your membership status. Iv. Examination and induction: You must engage in the entry examination process and be inducted as a member of the institute
