REQUIREMENTS

  • Individuals applying for the Strategic Management Consultant Certification must possess a postgraduate degree or equivalent (for new applicants), while existing members must be at least a Full Member of the Institute with at least 10 years of practical experience with relevant academic qualifications.
  • Payment of the prescribed application fees.
  • Write and pass the Strategic Management Consultant examination Modules 1, 2 and 3.

Fellowship

Individuals are qualified for the Fellowship cadre of the Institute if they fulfill the following criteria:

  • He/She is a founding member of the Institute with sound academic and relevant professional qualifications and experiences
  • He/She is a university graduate, academician and non-academician, whose advisory roles on economic matters and management positions in the public or private sectors have contributed tremendously to the nation's economic growth and development
  • They are individuals in relevant and related disciplines who have offered development services of a special nature to the nation or who have noticeably, relentlessly and dynamically enhanced the professional image of the Institute directly or indirectly; and
  • They are holders of a Full Membership Certificate of the Institute with at least 10 years of practical experience
  • Existing members who wish to upgrade must have attended Mandatory Continuous Professional Development (MCPD) Programmes/ISMN-organized or sanctioned trainings and workshops attended within the last two years, while new applicants will attend the mandatory training prescribed by the Board of Fellows
  • Payment of the required Fellowship Application fee as stipulated by the Board of Fellows

Full Membership

Individuals applying for Full Membership of the Institute must have the following requirements:

  • Must be adjudged as having the requisite academic qualification and experience by the Council
  • Is a holder of the Institute's Associate Membership with at least four years of practical experience subsequent to his Associate Membership enlistment and
  • Possesses other relevant qualifications acceptable and considered suitable and relevant by the Council
  • Pay the prescribed Membership Application Fee
  • Write and pass the Full Membership Examination

Associate Membership

Applicants into the Associate Membership Cadre of the Institute must be:

  • A candidate who has satisfactorily passed all required and mandated Institute's professional examinations as approved by the Council or is a holder of the Institute's Student Membership

Membership Recertification

As a requirement of the Institute Charter, all members are required to revalidate their membership of the Institute:

  • He/She is a founding member of the Institute with sound academic and relevant professional qualifications and experiences
  • Applicants for Membership Recertification must be financially updated to date with the payment of at least three (3) years Annual Subscription (for both Chapter and National) including the current year
  • Participation in the prescribed recertification workshop organized by the Institute's Training Committee
  • Participate in the Induction at the Annual General Meeting of the Institute
